Kamel Al-Basha (born March 14, 1962 in Jerusalem) is a Palestinian theater and film director and actor.
His biography
He was born in 1962 in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in East Jerusalem. He studied theater in Baghdad from 1979 to 1982. The Pasha arrested him after his return and imprisoned him for 18 months.
After his release, he acted in a large number of theatrical pieces, wrote some of them and directed nearly 30 works on stage. His career began with the storyteller theater group, and he was featured in the Arabic version of Bertoad Brecht's play "The Exception and the Rule". He authored and translated a number of theatrical works and taught at universities, and also appeared in small roles in a number of Palestinian dramas on television and cinema. His first major movie role was the role of Yasser Abdullah Salameh in the movie Case No. 23 by Lebanese director Ziad Douiri.
He married Palestinian artist and singer Reem Telhami, and she participated in a number of works such as "Text a Bag of Lead", "They are all my sons", "Hamlet" and "Green Salt".
