Kamal Al-Jaafari is a Palestinian director, born in Ramle in 1972. Kamal attended the Academy of Arts in Cologne and later moved to Berlin, where he currently lives.

In September 2011 Al-Jaafari became a lecturer in German films at the University of Berlin. He worked on film studies at the Radcliffe Center at Harvard University.
