Rashid Ali Issa Abu Maryam (1951) a
Jordanian-Palestinian writer and poet. Born in Nablus. He obtained a license to
teach Arabic from the Higher Teachers Qualification College in Amman. Then he
studied Arabic language and literature at the University of Jordan, from which
he obtained a bachelor's degree in 1993, a master's degree in 1996, and a
doctorate in 2003. He worked as an Arabic language teacher in Saudi Arabia for
a while, then returned to Jordan. Appointed as editor-in-chief of the Jordanian
Al-Kateb magazine. He is a member of the Jordanian Writers Association and the
Curriculum Authoring Committee in the Jordanian Ministry of Education. He
published his poetry and articles in a number of Arab periodicals. He has
collections of poetry, books on criticism, communication skills, life, and
collections of songs for children, as well as collections of short stories.

Rashid Ali Issa Abu Maryam was born
in Nablus in 1951. He graduated from the Department of Arabic Language at the
University of Jordan in 1993 with a BA, and completed his postgraduate studies,
obtaining a master’s degree from the same university in 1996, and a doctorate
from the University of Jordan in 2003.
During the years 1972-1988 he worked
as a teacher in the schools of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and during the
years 1988-1995 he worked as a teacher in the schools of the Jordanian Ministry
of Education. Curriculum Directorate in the Ministry itself. He also worked as
a part-time lecturer at the Language Center at the University of Jordan during
the years 1999-2000 and at Al-Nasher Sudanese University in 2001, in addition
to his work as an expert in Arabic language curricula. Then he moved to teach
at Princess Alia College / Al-Balqa Applied University since 2008.
He assumed the editorial management
of Baraem Amman Magazine, which was published by the Greater Amman Municipality
2007/2008, and was chosen as a member of the editorial board of Wissam
Magazine, which is issued by the Ministry of Culture (2011).
He is a member of the Jordanian
Writers Association and the Arab Writers Union. He has presented research on a
number of Arab cultural events. He has various contributions to radio and
television in Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and has written operettas on national occasions.

Rashed Issa was distinguished for
his ingenuity in choosing the vocabulary of his poetry, in a way different from
the vocabulary of poetry used. He said about himself, "I write the poem
first in order to live life in it and not think of the audience at all because
the artistic formation in my poem is based on what Bishr ibn al-Mu'tamid
said" that the brilliant writer is the one who uses soft words in rough
meanings...and writes for the elite so that he can be understood by the
public...and relied on suggestion. Metonymy and gesture, and I never seek the
clapping reader because enthusiasm is a temporary emotional emotion, but I seek
the contemplative reader who is good at interpretation and loading the text
with far-reaching meanings.

his prizes
1996: The song "Spring and
Peace", written by him, won first place in the Arab Child Song Festival
organized by the Ministry of Culture in 1996.

grief” won the Arabic Song Festival award from Radio Morocco in 2004.
