Hayam Qabalan (born July 8, 1956 in
the village of Isfiya - Palestine) is a Palestinian poet and writer of short
stories.
the biography
Hayam Qabalan was born in the
village of Isfiya. She received her primary education in the village school.
She attended secondary school in Nazareth, where she attended the school of the
Franciscan Sisters. At Haifa University she studied history and education. She
lives in Daliat al-Karmel, where she worked as an Arabic teacher. Some of her
poems have been translated into Hebrew; She also wrote a regular column "On
Wings of Feathers" for Al-Sinnara. She has published several volumes of
poetry and short fiction, beginning with Hops on the Roads in 1975. She is a
regular attendee of poetry festivals, including those at [[Sde Boker College]].
She played the piano, in addition to
learning the Arabic language and history, qualified for art therapy with what
is called (Tarabia), worked for seven years in Al-Sanara newspaper in Nazareth,
and an anchor on Radio Al-Mahaba for the literary program in Carmel.
