She
drew about 10 paintings summarizing the most prominent events that happened to
her before and after the bombing of her house by the Israeli occupation planes,
and her feelings while she was under the rubble for more than 12 hours.
These
drawings and paintings were the work of the Palestinian plastic artist “Zainab
Al-Qolq”, who lost 22 members of her family in the Al-Wahda Street massacre in
the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The
story of Zainab al-Qalq, 22, who is studying English literature, is one of the
stories of Gaza City, when she lost 22 members of her family, including her
mother and 3 of her siblings, in an Israeli bombing of her home in Gaza City.
“Zeinab”appears to us, a year after the massacre, with artistic paintings that worked
as different spaces for the story, bearing features of pain, hope, and absence.
Zainab
said in her interview with Al-Ghad TV: “The exhibition is an embodiment of the
suffering she went through as a result of the Israeli occupation’s bombing of
her house without prior warning or warning, and the bombing of her neighbors on
Al-Wahda Street, and I am the survivor after 12 hours under the rubble, so I
will take advantage of any A way for me to publish and expose the crimes of
this occupation.”
Today,
Zainab, mixed with pride and tears, presented a new model for the victim who
calls herself a survivor, and who insists on using everything she has to
present her story. Behind her is her father, the biggest supporter, and her
brother, who are the ones left for her from her family, and in front of her is
a wide audience of Journalists who conveyed her story, message and claims to
all peoples of the world.
Zainab
added, in an interview with Al-Ghad TV: “This exhibition is a message to the
whole world to see and witness the scale and horror of the crimes committed by
the occupation against Palestinian civilians, and the massacre that took place
on Al-Wahda Street is evidence of that, and I want to tell the occupation and
the world that we are a people.” He does not like war and destruction and seeks
to live in peace.”
