Osama Al-Aissa is a Palestinian writer and journalist, born in 1963. He has worked for many Palestinian and Arab newspapers. He has published more than 10 books, including the novel “The Madmen of Bethlehem,” which won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Literature in 2015.

Osama Al-Aissa, writer and journalist, was born in Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem, Palestine in 1963. He moved to Jordan in 1987, and Al-Aissa worked for many Arab and Palestinian newspapers such as “Raya” newspaper in 1984, “Al-Mehmaz” and “Al-Talee’a” "," Asharq Al-Awsat "," Al-Akhbar "," All Arabs ". He published short stories in "Al-Ittihad" newspaper, "Al-Ghad" and "Al-Jadeed" magazines. Al-Aissa was a member of the Arab Intellectual Forum headed by one of the leaders of the national action, Ibrahim Al-Daqqaq. After that, he became editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper, "Al-Sada". He is a member of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate and a member of the Palestinian Writers Union. So far, he has published six novels, including "Al-Mascobiyya" and "The Madmen of Bethlehem", and six scientific and historical books such as "The Dead Sea Scrolls" and "Tel Aviv Never Forgets - The Story of the Assassinations of the Leaders of the Al-Aqsa Intifada", and four collections of short stories, "The Messenger of God".
