Ihab Bseiso (born May 28, 1978 in Gaza ) is a Palestinian academic , poet and architect . He was the spokesman for Rami Hamdallah's third government , and later appointed him Minister of Culture in his government in the period 2015–2019. He is currently the head of the Palestinian National Library . [3] News circulated about his dismissal after he commented on the killing of Nizar Banat at the hands of the Palestinian security services in a post on social networking sites, as part of the authority’s silencing of criticism and denouncing demonstrations, while the letter of his dismissal did not reach him due to the confusion and confusion that accompanied the case.

Growing up and educational attainment

Ihab Yasser Arif Bseiso was born in 1978, and grew up in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City . He received his entire school education in Gaza City , then left to study architecture in Britain. Bseiso holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture , and master’s and doctoral degrees in international media from Cardiff University in Wales .

Working life

After graduating from university, he worked as an architect in the Emirates . After completing his master's and doctoral studies in international media, he worked as an academic advisor and media trainer for a number of Arab and international media institutions. He worked as a lecturer in the Media Department at Birzeit University , and served as head of the Media Department at Birzeit University .

He was appointed director of the Government Media Center and official spokesman for Rami Hamdallah’s third government in June 2014. He was later appointed Minister of Culture in Rami Hamdallah’s third government after the second ministerial reshuffle in December 2015.

In 2019, he was appointed head of the Palestinian National Library .

Vice President of Dar Al-Kalima University for Communication and International Relations in 2021.
