Hiba Kamal Saleh Abu Nada (June 24, 1991 - October 20, 2023) was a Palestinian writer , poet, and short story writer from the displaced village of Beit Jirja . She lived in the Gaza Strip . She devoted her writing to speaking on behalf of the Palestinian cause and its pain.
She was martyred in the events of Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa .
Her biography
Heba Abu Nada was born in Mecca , Saudi Arabia in 1991. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry , a Master’s degree in Therapeutic Nutrition from Al-Azhar University in Gaza , and a Diploma in Educational Rehabilitation from the Islamic University in Gaza. She worked as a leader at the Russell Center in the Department of Intelligent and Creative Children in the field of science.
She excelled in writing stories and poetry, and won second place in the novel category in the twentieth session of the Sharjah Competition for Arab Creativity, which is organized annually by the Department of Culture and Information in the Government of Sharjah, for her novel “Oxygen is Not for the Dead” in which she expressed the image of the Arab person in the time of the Arab revolutions , and in which she liberated herself from the place so that all the Arab revolutions would be in the ember of one revolution, and all the chants in one chant: “The people want,” and all the peoples in their will are a people with one heart.
Her contribution to Wikipedia
Hiba Abu Nada volunteered at Wikipedia in 2021 in the distance learning program called WikiRights , and Abu Nada was a linguistic proofreader of articles before they were published by trainees.
Her death
Hiba was martyred on Friday, Rabi` al-Akhir 5, 1445 AH, corresponding to October 20, 2023 AD, in the events of Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa .
The Palestinian Ministry of Culture mourned her in a statement that read: “ The writer and poet Hiba Kamal Abu Nada has passed away as a martyr as a result of the ongoing aggression against our people in Gaza .”
