Zuhair Ghunaim Abdul Latif Ghunaim ( 13 Dhu al-Hijjah 1375 = July 22, 1955 ) is a Palestinian -Jordanian historian , academic, and writer .
His life and studies
Zuhair Ghnaim was born in the town of Kafr Zibad in Tulkarm . He received his primary and preparatory education in his town’s school, and studied secondary school at Kafr Zibad Secondary School, where he obtained his high school diploma in 1971. He left Palestine for the Arab Republic of Egypt to complete his studies at Ain Shams University , where he studied history and obtained his bachelor’s degree in 1979. He then traveled to Jordan and from there to Kuwait , where he worked in the Kuwaiti Ministry of Communications between 1980 and 1982. He then returned to Jordan and worked in the Ministry of Education between 1982 and 2002 . During that period, he registered at the University of Jordan to obtain a master's degree from the Department of History, and obtained it in 1986 for his thesis "The Umayyad Political Theory of the Caliphate and Governance." He completed his doctoral studies at the same university, and obtained it in 1994 for his thesis "The Acre District during the Ottoman Tanzimat Period 1864-1918 AD ." During his stay in Jordan, he participated in writing the social studies books "History" for the primary stage between 1995 and 2000 AD . He worked as a part-time lecturer at the University of Jordan and Hashemite University between 1999 and 2001 AD . He is an associate professor at Al-Quds University - Abu Dis .
