Khalil Athamneh ( 1358 AH / 1939 AD - 30 Rabi` al-Thani 1445 AH / November 14 , 2023 ), Palestinian writer , historian , and translator .
His life and studies
Khalil Athamneh was born in Baqa al-Gharbiya in 1939. He received his primary, middle and secondary education there. He obtained a BA in General History and Arabic Language and Literature from Tel Aviv University in 1972 , an MA in Arabic Language for his thesis entitled “Sibawayh’s Sources in (The Book)” from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1976 , and a PhD in Islamic Civilization and History for his thesis entitled “The Caliphate of Hisham bin Abdul Malik ” and the verification of the manuscript: “Ansab al-Ashraf by al-Baladhuri” from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1981.
