Abdul Latif Aql (1942-1993)  Palestinian poet , writer and researcher , born in 1942 in the town of Deir Istiya in the Salfit Governorate . 

His upbringing and education

Abdul Latif Aql was born in the town of Deir Istiya , north of Salfit Governorate . He received his primary and secondary education in the schools of the towns of Kafl Haris and Deir Istiya , and obtained his high school diploma in Amman . He then completed his education in the United States of America , where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966. After that, he completed his postgraduate studies until he obtained a Master's degree in 1980 and later a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Houston . 

His functions

He worked as a teacher in Palestinian high schools, Bethlehem University and An-Najah National University , and was the vice president of that university and an associate professor in 1992. He headed the Al-Siraj Center for Culture, Arts and Theater , and the Membership and Reading Committee of the Palestinian Writers Union . He won a number of awards in social psychology and theater. Among those who wrote about him are: Ahmed Hamed , Abdel Wahab El-Messiri , and among his students is Dr. Hilmi Al-Zawati . 

His works

His theatrical works include : The Key (1976), The Wedding (1980), The Shariqat of Bani Mazen (1985), The Country Asked for Its People (1989), The Stone in the Land of Qantar (1990), and The Trial of Fins bin Shaafat (1991).

A collection of his articles was published in two books: (The Secret of the Blue Bird... Like Blood) in 1985, and (Peace Be Upon You) in 2007.

He also published two books in the academic field: Social Psychology (1985), and Educational Waste (1983).

Among the poetry collections are : Shores of the Moon (1964), Songs of the Summit and the Bottom (1972), She or Death (1973), Poems about a Love that Knows No Mercy (1975), Children Chasing Locusts (1976), Dialogue of One Sorrow (1985), Al-Hassan bin Zurayq is Still Traveling (1986), A Heart for the Dead Sea (1990), A Statement of Shame and Return (1992), and Repentance from Repentance (2006).
