Musa Suleiman Ajawi (1966-) is a Palestinian visual artist and cartoonist , born in Jordan to a Palestinian family displaced by the 1948 Nakba . He is famous for his Palestinian nationalist and nationalist drawings that embody the state of Arab weakness. He is a member of the Cartoonists for Freedom and Jerusalem Association.
His career
His family migrated from their village of Kawkab al-Hawa in Beisan to Jordan after the Palestinian Nakba in 1948. Musa grew up in Irbid camp and received his primary education in UNRWA schools , earning a BA in History . He worked for Al Jazeera Net from 2006 to 2018 and Al Manar TV from 2007 to 2011. He currently works for the London-based Al Quds Al Arabi newspaper . He was a member of the Jafra Palestinian National Heritage Band for the cultural aspect during the years (1987-1989).
Awards
Musa Ajawi participated in more than 75 exhibitions, and won many awards for his exhibitions and caricature competitions, including:
Appreciation Award from the Fourth International Syrian Culture Caricature Competition, 2008.
Return Award from Badil Center 2012.
Appreciation Award for his exhibition held at the Iranian Consulate in Damascus in 2007.
