born in 1953 in the refugee camps of Gaza, where he still lives.
He is considered a pioneer of the short story genre after the 1967 occupation and
was one of the founders of the Palestinian Writers' Union.
He was arrested numerous times and imprisoned by the Israeli occupation.
He has published seven short story collections and two novels, and contributed to two Arabic anthologies of short stories.
He has won several awards for his short stories.
Some of his works have been translated into English, Italian, and Hebrew.
He has a distinctive style, evident in his language and structure, and some critics consider him a pioneer in the art of the short story.
