Born in Danna, Beit She'an 1943, studied Arabic Literature in Beirut Arab University; graduated in 1972, received his MA from Al-Azhar University in Egypt 1978; PhD in Arabic Literary and Criticism from the same university 1981, dean of Hawwara Intermediate College from 1987-1994; Al-Karak College (1994-1995); Irbid College (1995-1999), Arabic language lecturer at Al-Balqa' Applied University (BAU) since 1999, culture adviser of the university's president, member of the Jordanian Writers Association; member of the General Union of Arab Writers, member of the National Team to Supervise the Arabic Language Curriculum (1989-1994). Al Shalabi currently works as the chief-editor of (Al Wisam) Magazine, which is being released by the Ministry of Culture in Jordan.
