Information
Wajeeh Omar Matar was a Palestinian poet and researcher, he was born in Nahaf, Upper Galilee in 1947. His family fled to Lebanon following the Nakba; they resided in Rashidieh Camp. Matar recievd his Bachelor's degree in Theatrical Arts from Baghdad University, obtained his MA from the Lebanese University.
He spent his life dreaming about returning to Palestine, he lived in many countries. Wajeeh eventually resided in Libya. Member of Al-Gaddafi International Prize for Human Rights; member of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists Union.
Matar died in a car accident in Libya in 2005.
