Information
Nasser was born in Zarqa, Jordan (1977) to a family originally from Bayt Nabala, Lod District.
Nasser Salameh's uniqueness comes primarily from his diversity as a percussion player, not only is he an expert in the intricate art of Arabic instruments and rhythms, he is also highly experienced with Latin percussion including Congas and Bongos, and many other percussion instruments from all over the world. In addition to his work with local groups such as Sign of Thyme, Nawazen, Turab, Sharq, Al Hanuneh, and the National Music Conservatory Orchestra, Salameh appears regularly with many regional and international outfits, including the renowned Palestinian band Karloma, the Palestinian Youth Orchestra. He has accompanied and oud masters from all over the world, notably the Palestinian virtuoso Ahmad Al Khatib, Hussain Sabsabi from Syria, Nasir Shamma from Iraq, Omar Bashir from Iraq, and Sakher Hattar from Jordan. He was aslo part of the ensemble of renowned international musicians who accompanied Jordanian composer Zeid Dirani in his "One Night in Jordan" performance in 2008; considered one of the grandest musical events ever to take place in the Middle East. Salameh also worked as a percussion educator in the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Palestine, and in Jordan at the National Conservatory and as a private tutor. Nasser obtained his MA in Musical Art from the University of Jordan in 2015; he currently resides in Amman, Jordan.
