Rashid Abu Mariam was born in Nablus 1951, received his secondary education in his country 1969; obtained a Diploma in Arabic language from the Teachers Training Institute in Ramallah 1971; he then earned his BA in Arabic language Teaching from the Higher College of Teachers in Amman. He also has worked in Saudi Arabia as an Arabic language teacher for 16 years, he then returned to Jordan in 1988 where he worked as a secretary editor of the Jordanian Writer Magazine (Al Katib Al Orduni).
Rashid is a member of the Jordanian Writers Association since 1984, published his poetry, articles and critical studies in the Arabic magazines.
