Zuhdi Jarralah was born in Jerusalem in 1914, received his elementary education in Al-Rashidiyah School; secondary education at the Arab College in 1929. He joined the American University of Beirut and received a certificate in History in 1932, BA in the History of Arab from the same university in 1944.
After his graduation from the AUB, he worked as a History teacher in Haifa, Nazareth and Hebron's secondary schools. After al-Nakba, he migrated to Baghdad where he was appointed as a History lecturer in Queen Alia College from 1948 - 1953. Zuhdi then moved to Saudi Arabia and worked as translator in Aramco Co. from 1955 - 1958. In 1961, he moved to Lebanon where he was appointed as Head of the Middle East Institution for Editing, Translating and Publishing.
