Samih was born in Dheisheh Refugee Camp in 1955, finished his primary and secondary education in the camp; Diploma in English Language from Dar al-Mu'almen in Ramallah, he has also received an Ijazah in English Literature from Bethlehem University and a Diploma in Translation from the same university. After graduation, he worked as an English Language teacher.
