Born in Ar'ara, Haifa 1945, emigrated with his family after al-Nakba, worked as a sailor in a Kuwaiti company for several years; joined the Maritime Engineering College; graduated in 1968, arrested by the Israeli forces in 1969, spent 15 years in prison, released in 1985. While in prison, he read thousands of books and novels and wrote many others.
