Raed Jarrar, an Arab-American architect, blogger and political activist, based in Washington, DC, in the United States. He is Director of Communications and Spokesperson for the US-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

Raed Jarrar was born in Iraq, and raised in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. He is half Iraqi and half Palestinian. He holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Baghdad and a master's degree in architecture from the University of Jordan, dedicating his thesis to the topic of reconstruction in post-war Iraq.

While studying at the University of Baghdad, he met fellow architect Salam Pax, one of the most famous Arab bloggers

Jarrar first gained fame as someone referenced in the title of the blog Where's Raed?, written and reviewed by Slam Pax, in which Jarrar has made some posts himself. This blog received extensive media coverage during and after the invasion of Iraq.

Jarrar, with his family, compiled all of their blogs into a book called "The Iraq War Blog, an Iraqi Family Under the First Year of Occupation", which was published in June 2008. The book shows, through their words, how their lives have been affected by terrorist events and the destruction of the city. and the killings caused by the US military and coalition forces in response. The family survived the night and daytime missile attacks that destroyed their home. While members of the Jarrar family chronicled their daily lives amid the devastation, they also provided a descriptive analysis of the prevailing political climate as a result of the US occupation of Iraq.

After the fall of Baghdad in 2003, Jarrar worked as director of the campaign advocating for victims of conflicts in Iraq, which is the only one that has conducted a field survey of homes in Iraq to tally civilian casualties since 2003. He founded the “Emaar” organization, a non-governmental organization that carried out humanitarian and reconstruction work in many areas. in Baghdad and southern Iraq.
