Information
Saqr Abu Fakhr is a Palestinian writer living in Lebanon. He is a former editor of the Journal of Palestine Studies issued by the Institute for Palestine Studies; He is a researcher and author specializing in Arab affairs, with a particular focus on Palestinian affairs. He began writing in 1973, and his writings were published in Al-Safir newspaper, the Journal of Arab Studies, and the Journal of Palestinian Affairs.
Saqr held several editorial and research positions. He worked as the editor-in-chief of the Palestine Supplement at As-Safir newspaper. In the eighties, he held the position of editor-in-chief/assistant editor-in-chief for a number of journals and research institutes, including the Planning Center of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Institute for Palestine Studies. He wrote extensively on Palestinian history, culture, and the situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. His writings have been translated into Turkish, Kurdish, Persian, French and English. He is a member of the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists, and the Media Committee of the International Council for Palestinians in the Diaspora - Geneva.
