Julia Boutros (April 1, 1968 corresponding to Muharram 2, 1388 AH -) is a Lebanese singer, born in Beirut, Lebanon.

Her family roots go back to the city of Tyre, she was born in Beirut, she studied in the Rosary Sisters schools, where she sang in the school choir. At the age of seventeen, she sang her first song, “Shams al-Haq Absent” and that song met with great success at that time. She was known for her patriotic songs in the eighties and nineties. A sister composer Ziad Boutros.

Most of her songs came during a period that was characterized by violence in the Middle East, and therefore had a wide resonance among the revolutionaries and resistance fighters, especially in Palestine and Lebanon. Also, Julia was awarded with honors and awards at official levels in Tunisia, Jordan, Syria, Qatar and the UAE, and she received the Order of the Cedar in Lebanon from the President of the Republic for her effective contribution to the resistance through her voice. Lebanon celebrated the liberation of its south in the year 2000 through a celebration held by Julia in the south on the day of liberation.

After the war that Israel launched against Lebanon in July, 2006, she created the Ahbai project, which is a group of concerts that she performed in Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Syria, and sang songs of love for the homeland and the beloved, and the proceeds of these concerts returned in addition to selling CDs to The families of the victims who fell in this war. A year after the project, Julia held a press conference in which she announced the amount she had collected, which is 3 million dollars, which she donated to the martyrs of the Lebanese resistance and the martyrs of the Lebanese army in the events of the Nahr al-Bared camp.


personal life

She was born in Beirut to a Christian family, from a mother of Palestinian and Armenian origin, and a father from Tyre. In 1996, she married Elias Bou Saab, Vice President of the American University in Dubai, and she has lived in Dubai since then, and in 1997 they had their first child, named Samer.

In July 2007, she was awarded the National Order of the Cedar, at the rank of officer, for spreading the culture of resistance through her artwork.
