Shaker Al Rayyes was born in Gaza where he received his elementary education, he then left to Egypt where he joined Al-Azhar.

After graduating from Al-Azhar, he was appointed as Mufti in Khartoum, Sudan where he resided later on. Shaker was killed at the onset of the Mahdist War in the late 19th century.
