Nabil Youssef Ahmed Barakat (in
English: Nabil Barakat), a Palestinian engineer and businessman, who holds
American and Jordanian citizenship, was born in 1954, and he is from the town
of Anabta in the Palestinian governorate of Tulkarm. He was born to a family of
thirteen brothers and sisters. He immigrated to Oregon in the United States
when he was seventeen years old. In 1978 he graduated from the University of
Oregon with a major in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Upon completion of
his education, he worked for the General Electric Company until 1983. He
continued his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, then
continued his educational career at Cranfield University in England to
specialize in air transport and air law, and obtained an MBA and aeronautics
from Strayer University in the United States. In 1983, he established his two
empires, represented by the “Wamar” company, which has been developing and
progressing ever since. It is a company specialized in the world of aviation
and electricity generation, as it carries out works of establishing and
maintaining gas power stations, developing and maintaining aircraft engines,
and so on. Barakat's business has spread to 168 countries around the world.

Nabil Barakat immigrated to the United

hard and worked in very modest professions, until he graduated from the
University of Oregon in the United States in 1978 as a computer and electrical

With the end of his academic career
in 1987, Barakat joined the American General Electric Company directly, where
he spent several years in high-level positions in various fields. In 1983 he
built the “Wamar” company, so his name soared in the world of aviation and
electricity generation, stormed the world and entered many markets such as
Iraq, Afghanistan, Mogadishu, Mexico, Central America and South Africa, and
proved his presence in more than 168 countries worldwide. Here it should be
noted that Mr. Barakat has owned the company individually for more than thirty
years. Barakat also operates in the most sensitive places in the US Department
of Defense, thanks to its technology, reliability and quality of work.

works
2000-2003 He was appointed as a
member of the Academic Research Council at the University of Jordan.
2002-2004 appointed as a member of
the American Society of Mechanical Engineers "ASME".
Appointed a member of the American
Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics "AIAA".
From 2000 to 2005, he was
appointed, by government decree of the Prime Minister of Jordan, as the
President of Amman Surgical Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in the
Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the purpose of overseeing the restructuring
and reorganization of the hospital.
Appointed by the US Secretary of
Commerce as a member of the USIBD, this appointment was for a period of three
years from July 2009 to July 2012.
Served as Chairman of the Board of
Directors of Jordan and Gulf Bank.
Founder of the “International
Correlation for Oil and Gas Company” in the Syrian Arab Republic, accompanied
by the Frenchman, Sami Laradji.
