Businessman from Nablus; member of the Jordainian Parliament (Upper House) 1967-1971; elected as a member of Jordanian parliament and its speaker in the 1950s; member of various Jordanian cabinets (Minister of Agriculture 1953-1954) and the chamber of deputies in the 1950s; elected to serve as PLO vice-president in 1964; head of board of trustees of An-Najah University in Nablus 1972-1994. Died on December 12, 1994.
